Our Publishing Schedule

When to expect what

The last couple of weeks has been feeling out what kind of content seems right on spudWorks and, as founder, I think I’ve found the right rhythm to both provide regular content without making it a full time job. I’ll happily make it a full time job if there’s a millionaire or billionaire out there who wants to support such a thing. But, failing that, the following schedule seems about right.

We’ll start every Monday with some kind of editorial on the state of some kind of game. Necromunda? Probably. Something else? Quite possibly! But if you can’t start a week with some ideas, what are we even doing here?

Every Tuesday I hope to review a Necromunda scenario that I’ve played. There are more than a few and there isn’t a lot of information out there in terms of how they play and what they might be good for. Of course, any scenario can be fun with the right setup and a good opponent but if there is something that ideal for, say, an Underdog game, I feel like that’s something we can provide an answer to.

Wednesdays will be an official day off. Which doesn’t mean nothing will ever get published! It’s entirely possible something comes up, news or otherwise, that deserves a special write up, in which case we’re not going to wait around until one of the other editorial slots opens up. This applies for any day when something timely might occur. But, officially? Wednesdays will be quiet.

Thursdays will hopefully be something hobby related, either a gang showcase or some kind of tip or trick about the hobby.

Every other Friday will hopefully feature a bit of fiction. If it’s serialized, then every other Friday will get the next installment. But I would like to feature people’s fiction for at least a couple of weeks before the next piece comes out. It won’t always be set in the 40k world but it will, hopefully, be of some kind of crossover interest.

And, lastly, every other Saturday I’m looking to have a review of some kind, be it a game, a movie, a TV show. Saturday feels like a review day.

I’m also going to do a special series about Dark Matter, the Blake Crouch novel and Apple TV Series. It’s coming back for a second season at the end of August and I thought it would be fun to revisit the story, especially since the show is written and run by the author and season two will not be sourced from any book. These will get published when they’re ready but the series will be done by the time season two begins.

spudWorks is, of course, looking for people who want to contribute. Have an idea about the hobby you want to write up? Send it in. Written a story? Send it in. Want to review something? Send. It. In!

Again, just because we’re currently going to do some things weekly or every other week, it doesn’t mean we can’t publish more often. Just hit us up at colin.ferm+spudworkssub@gmail.com and we’ll take a look. All submissions will be thoughtfully responded to.
